ITM Taupō Super 440 Race Wrap Up
— April 14, 2026 | 2 min read
Taupō brought a weekend that had a bit of everything as we closed out the opening leg of the NZ double header - strong moments, tough breaks, and plenty to reflect on.
Off track, we played host to five different companies, giving them a behind-the-scenes look through pit tours and sharing the full race weekend experience. Alongside that, the reveal of the NZ specific race livery added another highlight to a busy couple of days in Taupō.
With a constantly evolving schedule and Sunday ultimately cancelled, the team had to adapt quickly and make the most of limited track time. Despite the disruption, Cam Waters showed promising speed throughout, putting himself in a competitive position early. Unfortunately, a mix of setbacks during the races meant that pace didn’t convert into the results we were aiming for.
On the other side of the garage, Thomas Randle continued to work his way into the weekend, building consistency and gaining valuable laps in challenging conditions. In such a tight field, small margins made a big difference, but the progress across sessions was a positive to take forward.
While the final results weren’t where the team wanted them, there’s no shortage of learnings and positives to build on. It’s now time to regroup, reset as the team heads into Christchurch this weekend to round out the double header.
