From time to time, power isolation may be needed in some vehicles and equipment for maintenance and repair purposes, or even in an emergency situation.
Rather than manually having to disconnect battery terminals, a much faster and efficient way of isolating power is by fitting a battery master switch.
Narva has a wide selection of battery master switches available, with the range of switches having recently grown with the addition of four new variants suitable for both 12 and 24V applications.
New to the range is a Rotary Battery Master Switch with removable keyed knob. Compact in size with a diameter of just 45mm at its widest, this switch only requires a 29mm diameter opening for fitting and also features an easy-turn knob. The keyed knob is also available in the alternative insert colour in white.
Its compact dimensions make this switch ideal for passenger cars, light trucks and stationary engines and it can handle current loads of 1000A at 12V for five seconds, 500A at 24V for five seconds, 100A at 12V continuous load maximum and 50A at 24V continuous load maximum.
The second addition to the line-up is a Heavy Duty Dual Pole Battery Master Switch with removable metal key – this one features dual circuits for vehicles running single or dual batteries.
This unit can handle loads of 2500A at 12V for five seconds, 1250A at 24V for five seconds, 250A at 12V continuous load maximum and 125A at 24V continuous load maximum.
If additional security is needed at the switch, a new Master Switch Lever type with Lock-out variant has also been introduced. It features a fixed lever with integrated locking facility that can be secured with a padlock (not included) and has an IP66 rating.
This switch comes with red battery and yellow starter on/off decal discs to suit the application, along with three rubber boot colours (black, red and yellow) for easier identification.
The last of the new additions is a Dual Pole variant of the Lever type with Lock-out switch. It features all the same great benefits but with the dual pole functionality for equipment with more than one battery.
Both of the Lock-out switches are ready for loads of 2500A at 12V for five seconds, 1250A at 24V for five seconds, 250A at 12V continuous load maximum and 125A at 24V continuous load maximum.
The latest additions sees Narva’s range of battery master switches now number 15 variants – they’re available from leading automotive, transport, four wheel drive and marine outlets nation-wide.
